A two-day course on using the TEACCH programme

This course aims to develop your understanding of how to support autistic people using the TEACCH programme.

The TEACCH approach tries to respond to the needs of autistic people using the best available approaches and methods known so far, for educating and teaching autonomy. It is not a single method and can be used alongside other approaches.

  • Introduction to the autism spectrum
  • Communication and behaviour
  • Exploring the potential differences for autistic people and those who support them
  • Overview and key principles of TEACCH
  • TEACCH visual communication systems and schedules
  • Structuring the environment
  • The TEACCH programme in practice.

Who should attend?

The course is suitable for those with little or no prior knowledge of autism or those who already have some knowledge and wish to develop this further. This course is for those who wish to develop their understanding of using the TEACCH programme to support individuals on the autism spectrum.
