Potato Heads with the Time Lord medalDate: Monday 14 - Sunday 20 May 2018
Location: Anywhere
Distance: 5km
Registration fee: £12
Sponsorship target: Raise what you can!

Unfortunately this event is now closed and all the places have been filled.

Virtual Runner UK has teamed up with The National Autistic Society to host a virtual event for any Doctor Who and/or running enthusiasts out there! With a limited edition, spinning Doctor Who themed TARDIS medal for everyone who completes the event; so you can walk, jog or run in your own time at your own pace to help support autistic people.

This race is open to everyone and you can run or walk the 5km over the space of seven days, but you must reach a minimum 5km between Monday 14 - Sunday 20 May 2018 to earn your exclusive medal! You don't have to walk or run the distance in one go, so this event is suitable for everyone.

There is no minimum fundraising target – just raise what you can then send us a link to your Run Like A Time Lord fundraising page and receive top notch stewardship from your virtual cheerleaders in the events team!

As part of #TeamAutism, you will receive:

  • our fundraising and training guide to help you every step of the way
  • dedicated support from our Events Officer, Rachael Lynch
  • access to our fundraising materials
  • a spinning TARDIS medal and a personalised certificate.

Frequently asked questions

  • How do I fundraise?
  • You can set up a JustGiving page and then send the page link to events@nas.org.uk. This way we can keep track of your fundraising and celebrate with you! You have no minimum target but here’s what your money could do:

    • £10 would help over 40 people access vital information from our website
    • £16 funds a 20 minute phone call to one of our Helpline advisors
    • £35 allows us to support one person through our Education Rights Service each year.

  • How do I get my medal?
  • You will now have an account on the Virtual Runner website and when you login in you can submit your proof of distance. This can be via a screen grab from a running app on your phone, or a picture of your Garmin watch etc. All submissions must be received ahead of the deadline of 12 noon on Wednesday 20 May 2018 to claim your medal.

The National Autistic Society has helped me so much over the years with my now 16 year old autistic daughter. It’s my favourite medal!

Tommy is a mad Doctor Who fan, who is currently under review for autistic tendencies, and therefore I was only happy for the two of us to spend some quality time together.
