Why do we fundraise by telephone? 

To raise the funds our charity needs to achieve its charitable goals, we aim to develop and maintain long-term relationships with donors. Contacting people by telephone can be an effective way to enhance knowledge and understanding of a cause and to inspire and motivate supporters to donate. 

Why do we use telephone fundraising agencies?  

The agencies that we use are specialists in their field. They employ professional fundraisers that work on our behalf. This helps us to raise the funds needed to make sure autistic people are supported and appreciated throughout their lives. 

Where do my donations go?

Your donations fund many of our important services for autistic people and their families. A donation of £15 a month could help six families to attend a family support seminar every year. These seminars connect people with professionals and other families; they are a lifeline for people who often don’t know where to turn.

Can I cancel or change my Direct Debit?

Call us on 0808 800 1050 and we will be happy to help you cancel or amend your Direct Debit (calls are free from landlines and most mobiles). You can also email us and we will reply as quickly as possible. If you would like to make a change, please contact us as soon as you can, so we can update our records before donations are collected.

Are your fundraisers paid commission?

Our fundraisers are not paid commission. They receive a regular salary and are motivated by our mission of creating a world where all people living with autism get to lead the lives they choose.

What hours do your fundraisers work?

Our agencies follow the rules of the Fundraising Regulator code of practice, which states that no calls can be made after 9pm, unless requested by the recipient. We aim for the highest standards in all of our fundraising and we are a member of the Public Fundraising Association (PFRA), The Fundraising Standards Board (FRSB) and the Institute of Fundraising (IoF).

Are the telephone fundraisers employed by The National Autistic Society?

The telephone fundraisers we work with are employed by two fundraising agencies: Ethicall and QTS, which are professional fundraising organisations. Working this way is cost-effective and gives us the benefit of working with experienced, professional fundraisers.

How can I give feedback about a fundraiser?

Please call us on 0808 800 1050 (free from landlines and most mobiles). We take all feedback seriously, both positive and negative. As a member of the Institute of Fundraising, we follow the Codes of Fundraising Practice.
